Nice day to activate the third highest point in LA/VF, LA/VF-003 Ruketuten, at 603 metres above sea level. 4.2km each way, with a total accent of about 360m. Beautiful sunny day, and an uncomplicated walk to the top. I had the advantage of walking in the tracks of LA7MHA Tord and LA2IMA Bjørn Ingar, who was there just a few days earlier. Spent about one hour and 45 minutes on the way up, and one hour 15 minutes coming back down. Gusts of cold wind at the summit, but otherwise nice and sunny. Spent almost two hours up there before heading back down. Logges 3 FM simplex contacts in addition to 33 on FT8/FT4, including 5 to the USA, 1 to Canada and 1 to Japan. FT-891 with my little home made inverted-V dipole from the Chinese fishing pole did well! Nice activation – will be back next year for sure!
